Why This Training Matters

Statement of Need

Community Health Advocates, Violence Prevention Professionals, and Peer Recovery staff work daily with individuals exposed to multiple forms of trauma. Without adequate training, the consequences are significant.

Frontline non-clinical staff are often the first — and sometimes only — point of contact for individuals navigating trauma, violence, and recovery. Yet they frequently enter this work without the structured preparation they need to respond safely and effectively.

This training addresses that gap directly, equipping staff with practical, evidence-informed tools grounded in trauma-informed care and community-centered practice.

⚠️

Trauma responses may be misunderstood or misinterpreted, leading to ineffective or harmful interactions

🔄

Service delivery may unintentionally re-traumatize clients when staff lack trauma-informed frameworks

🚨

Opportunities for early violence prevention may be missed without proper recognition skills

🧠

Staff may experience burnout, vicarious trauma, and compassion fatigue without wellness strategies
